The Secretariat

the Uganda Country Coordinating Mechanism Secretariat

The CCM Secretariat is a unit that assists a CCM to carry out its functions as required by the Global Fund and the CCM’s own governing documents. The CCM Secretariat is accountable to the CCM, supervised by the CCM Executive Committee and is overseen by/reports on a day-to-day basis to the Chairperson of the CCM.

Roles & Responsibilities of the UCCM Secretariat

The UCCM Secretariat Core Responsibilities under the guidance of the UCCM Chair are to:

  • Support the Uganda CCM in communication to the Global Fund Secretariat and Global Fund stakeholders in Uganda
  • Support the Uganda CCM to manage the process of designing and developing country funding applications/ proposals to submit to the Global Fund
  • Support the Uganda CCM in the oversight of Global Fund grants implementation, finances and programmes in Uganda
  • Coordinate Uganda CCM Board, Committee and Retreat meetings
  • Coordinate Uganda CCM oversight activities including visits to Global Fund programme implementation sites, meetings, resource mobilization & harmonization, capacity building workshops and media events
  • Support Uganda CCM in the processes of information sharing and publicity including constituency engagement activities
  • Support the Uganda CCM to establish, review and update its rules, regulations and governance framework documents
  • Maintain Uganda CCM documentation and archives
