Uganda is also eligible for additional Catalytic Matching Funds beyond the grant allocation amounts above.
Catalytic matching funds aim to incentivize the use of the above country grant allocations towards strategic priorities that will help deliver the Global Fund’s mission to end the epidemics of HIV, Tuberculosis and Malaria and to support attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals. This funding should catalyze innovation and ambitious programming approaches and maximize impact in specific strategic priority areas. A corresponding increase in programmatic targets and coverage is anticipated through both the increased use of country allocations and use of matching funds towards the relevant catalytic investment priority. Uganda is eligible to receive catalytic matching funds in the following priority areas. See the table below for details.
UGANDA’S ELIGIBLE CATALYTIC INVESTMENT MATCHING FUNDS – 2021 TO 2023
The above brings total Global Fund grant funds available to US Dollars $602,501,931; that were requested/applied for by the CCM to support the country’s response to the three diseases of; HIV, Malaria and Tuberculosis, and the building of Resilient & Sustainable Systems for Health (RSSH) in Uganda during the next three (3) year period of 1st January 2021 to 31st December 2023.
